The Challenge
How do we expect innovation to thrive in Nigeria’s farming communities without power?

No electricity means no processing, no storage, no cold chain, no communication, no security, and no internet.

Many farmers still live in energy deserts, surrounded by abundance of biomass, wind, solar, air, and even plant-generated energy—but no systems to harness them.

Life on the farm remains stagnant… while cities move forward.

Yet, over 65% of our food is grown in these communities. It’s time to ignite the farm.

THE CHALLENGE: Build Nigeria’s Next Energy Revolution from the Farm Up
We’re calling on inventors, engineers, tinkerers, energy researchers, and indigenous technologists to submit prototypes, systems, or scalable concepts that:

✅ Derive energy from biofuel, wind, solar-air, kinetic, plant-based sources, or natural energy flows
✅ Power off-grid solutions for rural farming communities
✅ Are modular, portable, affordable, and locally maintainable
✅ Can energize:

Farming equipment and irrigation tools

Internet and communications infrastructure

Cold storage and food processing systems

Security and surveillance tools

Smart weather or planting devices

COMPETE FOR:
National Recognition

Seed Funding & Investment

Adoption by Development & Energy Stakeholders

Spotlight Exhibits & Certification at the 3rd ANI National Invention Workshop

APPLICATION OPENS: AUGUST 2025
Shortlisted candidates will be exhibited and awarded live in Oye-Ekiti this September, in the presence of investors, governments, farmers’ groups, development partners, and venture builders.

Let’s Unleash Nigeria’s Indigenous Energy Future
Our farms don’t need to wait for the national grid.
They need genius, grit, and green energy.
